Summer project before the start of year 2 in UCA. This summer project aims to prepare us for the first unit in year 2, Social and Cultural Context, which focuses on the role of the Graphic Designer/ Illustrator/ Animator as an agent for change. We need to have a power to communicate to an audience, could this be used to inform, educate, or persuade? To lead your thinking and help develop content for the brief below we are asking you to respond to the notion of: Dis-Possession: the idea that in society there are insiders and outsiders, there are those who feel disenfranchised, see themselves as living on the edges of the mainstream. To better understand issues around Dis-Possession you have to begin by examining your own Beliefs and Values; this is where Sociology (the study of social behavior or society) comes in.
