I’m Dorothy(b. 1996), a Hong Kong designer/maker currently based and growing roots in London. I work across Graphic Design and Illustration, hoping to fit somewhere in the middle. My research interests are in radical interests and politics, such as human rights, democratic politics, and the environment.
My work often revolves around how one views society, through visual language/communication, to social and political issues. This informs the areas I practice in (Lettering and Calligraphy, Symbol and logo design, printing and making…) and guides my process to be readable and comprehensible for all groups.
At the same time, I wish my practices can stand up for this ideal in a world in which freedom of speech faces increasingly adverse conditions.
On that note, I would love to hear from you, when everyone should be heard and put up their thoughts. Ideas, feedback and collaborations are more than welcome.
